Hourly Positions

Safely performs layout, installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of 480-3 phase electrical systems including wiring and conduit runs, communication cables, control and coaxial wiring, thermocouples and power distribution systems.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Supports the design, development, testing, assessment, and continuous improvement of machinery, equipment, tooling, production processes and systems to meet or exceed objectives for safety, product quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.  Collaborates with production management, quality assurance, safety/environmental, product development, and other personnel to achieve customer satisfaction and Company objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

At least five (5) years of progressive and related manufacturing/process engineering experience is required--including high-volume CNC machining of cast aluminum parts, cutting simulations, innovative and cost-effective tooling/fixtures, and CNC programming.  Working knowledge of typical machining defects and ‘appearance standards as well as cost reduction initiatives is strongly preferred.  Related Associate degree, or equivalent required; related Bachelor degree is preferred.  Experience should include:

  • Root Cause Analysis, 5 Why’s, Design of Experiments (DOE), etc.
  • Gauging, inspection processes, blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning/tolerancing
  • Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
  • Well-developed computer knowledge/skills (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, etc.).
Salary Positions

POSITION SUMMARY:

Plans and coordinates the execution of all aspects of machinery/equipment purchases and capital improvement projects under the direction of the Facility Manager or other project managers.  Prepares cost justifications and detailed specifications for machinery, equipment, and systems.  Assists in sourcing, negotiating contracts, and coordinating the work of suppliers and contractors to perform various aspects of projects.  Prepares detailed project budgets, monitors project milestones, and creates periodic project reports.  Reviews completed projects to confirm that equipment, components, and systems are functioning properly and can be released to production.

QUALIFICATIONS:

At least five (5) years of related project engineering experience is required--preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment.  Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously is required.  Related Bachelor degree (or equivalent) are also required.  Experience should also include:

  • Working knowledge of blueprint reading, technical drawings, schematics, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Well-developed computer knowledge/skills (e.g., computer-aided drafting/design tools, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, etc.)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Plans and delegates installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of machinery, equipment, and facilities.  Conducts orientation, training, coaching, and performance evaluation for multi-craft maintenance staff.  Communicates regularly with production departments to ensure proper coordination of schedules and priorities.  Provides hands-on support for maintenance/repair--utilizing knowledge/skills with electrical measuring instruments and testing devices, power and hand tools, welding and fabricating equipment.  Compiles information for periodic reports. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma (or equivalent) is required; Related multi-craft maintenance training strongly preferred.  Working knowledge of 440 or 480 three-phase electrical/electronic systems, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic equipment is required.  Working knowledge of precision measuring instruments, gauges, test equipment, and blueprint reading is also required.  Experience with electronic controls, robotics, construction trades, sheet metal fabrication, and welding is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Creates detailed specifications and design of control systems as part of machinery/equipment purchases and capital improvement projects.Ensures conformance with basic engineering and design principles.
  • Assists in setting scientific and technical goals within broad outlines provided by the management.Conducts research to confirm the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of equipment based on proposed controls.
  • Regularly uses computer-aided drafting/design tools to produce layouts or drawings as needed.
  • Assists in sourcing and negotiating contracts with suppliers and contractors to perform various aspects of projects.Interprets and explains plans and contract terms for contractors, sub-contractors, administrative staff, workers, etc.
  • Prepares detailed project budgets, schedules, and documentation.Breaks project into logical steps and allocates sufficient time to meet deadlines.
  • Ensures that all aspects of projects comply with relevant Company policies/procedures, building codes, safety rules/regulations, etc.Obtains necessary permits and licenses.
  • Monitors project milestones and creates periodic project reports.Anticipates potential bottlenecks and implements contingency plans to overcome issues, such as contractor delays, bad weather, cost over-runs, emergencies, etc.
  • Coordinates activities of external/internal personnel to perform installation, operation, testing, run-off, maintenance, and repair of equipment, components, and systems related to the project.
  • Reviews, inspects, and debugs control systems to confirm that equipment, components, and systems are functioning properly and can be released to production.  Provides on-going support for existing control systems.
  • Analyzes existing control systems and implements modifications, as needed to improve equipment function, reduce cost, etc.
  • Provides technical assistance to project engineers and process engineers.  Provides assistance to maintenance personnel for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of control systems.      

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Engineering or equivalent is required.
  • At least two (2) years of related controls engineering experience is required--preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment is required.
  • Working knowledge of the following is also required:
  • Various programmable logic controllers (Allen-Bradley, Hitachi, etc.)
  • HMI’s (Allen-Bradley Panelview and Panelview+ and Proface, etc.)
  • AC drives (Allen-Bradley, SEW, etc.)
  • Fanuc robots and vision systems
  • Industrial networks (DeviceNet, Ethernet, etc.)
  • Ability to read/interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
  • Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Project software and computer-aided drafting/design tools is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.  Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills are required.
